Here's a hastily assembled mix that should be self-explanatory. Gotta say though, somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind a little voice is yelling that I've left off an obvious and deserving choice. Suggestions are welcomed in the comments - even though I know a few will make me kick myself for the omission.

    Good suggestions, Jonder! "Acid Queen", "Killer Queen" and "Mississippi Queen" I considered, but wanted to find cover versions (I failed miserably at that particular quest). "Homecoming Queen" and "Hairspray Queen" I totally whiffed on.

    The Smithereens did Acid Queen on their Tommy covers album. Other suggestions (for volume 2?): Drag Queen by the Strokes, Karaoke Queen by Catatonia, Roller Queen by Jimmy Eat World, and Mean Teen Queen by the Nip Drivers! There are also several songs called Drama Queen. I love your concepts for theme mixes!

    PS - according to secondhandsongs, there are 40 versions of Killer Queen, (including one by Matthew Sweet and Susannah Hoffs), and 20 of Mississippi Queen.

    "Queen Bitch" might be the one that's nagging at me. But I give myself these arbitrary rules. Like, I wanted song titles that were "______ Queen" instead of "Queen ______" and so a couple very worthy songs were disqualified. Maybe there'll be a second volume for the different word order.
